Adding Students to Programs
Watch this short video to see how to add students to your published checklists.
This section will look at how to add students into your published programs and checklists. We covered publishing checklists in the previous section. Remember, it is very important that you double check all labels and settings before publishing your checklists. Only the SISID and Settings can be changed once a checklist is published.
Important: Students must have a valid CourseKey account on file before they can be enrolled into a Program. You will receive an error message when attempting to enroll a student into a program without a CourseKey account.
Email not registered
There are two ways to add students to your programs:
1. Manually using their email address (recommended for a handful of students to be enrolled)
2. Uploading a CSV file (recommended for a large number of students to be enrolled)
Add students manually using email address
- Navigate to the program that you are adding students to, in this example we are adding to the Cosmetology Program
- From the Program Info section click +Students
- To add students using their email addresses, click on Enter Email
- Add student email addresses one at a time and press the enter key on your keyboard after each email
- Click Submit after all emails have been entered
- If you made an error when submitting student emails, you will be notified.
- Click Okay
- You can verify that students have been added by clicking Program Info on the left of the page
- Then click all All Student tab for a list of students in the program
Add students using a CSV file
- Navigate to the program that you are adding students to, in this example we are adding to the Cosmetology Program
- From the Program Info section click +Students
- Click Upload CSV File
- Prepare your CSV file using a single column of email addresses with emails listed as the column header. Below is an example of the CSV file.
- Click Next
- Drag and drop your .csv file into the window or click to attach
- Click Submit
- If you made an error when submitting student emails, you will be notified. In this case 3 of the emails on the CSV file were duplicates. All other emails were added to the program
- Click Okay
- You can verify that students have been added by clicking Program Info on the left of the page
- Then click all All Student tab for a list of students in the program
NOTE: if you are continuing to get errors when doing bulk uploads please make sure that the email addresses have no Blank space before or after the email within the excel sheet. If so all you have to do is delete the blank space and then it should upload successfully
