Live Attendance Dashboard
CourseKey's live attendance dashboard provides administrators with optics into class-by-class attendance behavior in real-time, making it easier for campus leadership to spot classes with low attendance. You can easily sort through which courses you want to view, and with the color-coded dashboards you can quickly identify attendance check-ins and dive in for a detailed view of each student in the class.
Note:
Only administrators with editing permissions will be able to adjust a student's attendance status through the dashboard.
Viewing the Dashboards
As an admin with the relevant permissions, you'll be immediately directed to the live attendance dashboards upon login. If you navigate away from the page you can always return by selecting the Dashboard tab in your left navigation bar, and verify you're viewing Attendance in the secondary navigation.
Using the Dashboard Filter
1. Select your School.
If you’re affiliated with more than one school or campus, you can choose which location you’d like to view from the drop-down menu. You can also choose to view courses from all schools and campuses you have access to.
2. Filter the courses by the status of the attendance session: Active (attendance is still in progress), Scheduled (not yet started), Completed, Flex Attendance, or All.
3. Select the Date you want to view.
4. Enter your Search terms. (Optional)
In the search bar, you can enter a course name, title, or instructor. Press the enter key, or click the magnifying glass to initiate the search. If more than one search term is entered, the filter will show courses matching any of the search terms.
A note on 24-hour Courses: For any given Date filtered, the dashboard will only include courses that begin and end on the date selected, inclusive of its grace periods. This means a scheduled session that is intended to be open for 24 hours with 30-minute grace periods on either end will not show unless the sessions are scheduled from 12:30 AM - 11:30 PM each day. Alternatively, a Course Configuration of No-Grace Period) from 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM will display a such a session on the Attendance Dashboard for a given date.
Attendance Details and Edits
Clicking on any Active or Completed course on the dashboard will retrieve the daily Attendance List for the class. Current attendance sessions will display the timer and attendance controls in the top right corner of the page.
If sound technology is used in the course the speaker icon will default to red which indicates that your device is not projecting the check-in tone. Since school administrators may be monitoring several courses this can help prevent sound interference if attendance check-ins are occurring in another course nearby. If you wish to project the check-in tone, click on the speaker to unmute.
In the Attendance List, you'll see each student's check-in status marked on the radio buttons. Clicking on the column headers can allow you to easily sort through a large list of students by the last name, awarded time, status, or you can find a specific student using the search bar in the top right corner.
From within the Attendance List, administrators with the relevant permissions can make adjustments to student status and awarded time. For information on editing attendance check out the following articles:
