Understanding Your Class Chat Settings
Chat settings are unique to each course and can be updated at any time by instructors and administrators associated with the course.
Accessing the Course Chat Settings
1. From the home screen, select the Course you are working with.
2. Click on Chat in the top navigation.
3. Click on the Settings Icon (Gear Icon) in the top right corner of the page. This will show two options.
This toggle lets you enable or disable the entire chat. By default, chat is enabled. To disable the chat so students cannot access it, toggle the setting to 'Off'.
a. Disable During Assessment
This toggle is turned on by default, which will automatically disable the class chat during any active assessment. To allow students to access chat during assessments, toggle the setting to 'Off’.
4. After choosing your settings, click on 'X' in the top right corner to close the pop-up.
