Placement Workspace
Placement Workspace gives Cortex admins a better way to track when recent graduates are hired into relevant positions so they can efficiently support and verify job placements, which are mutually beneficial outcomes to both students and schools.
Accessing Placement Workspace
The Placement workspace - like any other workspace - is accessible by permissioned Admin users through the Workspaces button on the global navigation bar. Users will land on the Overview page by default. Contact your Customer Success Manager or submit a support request if access is missing or you would like to learn more.
Users with the following permissions will see a “Workspace” button added to the existing global navigation bar if the customer is set for:
- School is Cortex enabled
- User has view/edit Workspace permissions

Insights: Topline Metric Tiles
At the top of Placement Insights for the selected filters we report 3 metrics and their change over time:
- Placement Rate, where:
- Numerator: Count of Placement Status = "Currently Placed"
- Denominator: Count of Placement Status = "Currently Placed" and "Not Yet Placed"
- Both Numerator and Denominator filter by Enrollment Status = Graduated
- Comparative data points are shown if and only if a non-static date range is selected and data from the time range is available, where:
- Change is the percentage change between current date range and the previous date range e.g. if filtered by this year, and current placement rate of this year and previous year are 22.6% and 50% respectively, then change would be -55% in placement rate between last year and this year
- Prev. X is the placement rate of previous date range, where X can be year, month, or quarter based on date range selected
- Currently Placed, where:
- Count of PlacementStatus = "Currently Placed", where Enrollment Status = Graduated
- Avg Days to Placed, where:
- Average Days Difference between Graduation Date and Placement Date filtered by Placement Status = "Currently Placed"
- This metric could be negative in the case a student has been placed before the official date of graduation.
